Calculate package volume
Dimensions are converted into cubic metres. A manual CBM overrides the dimensions for that package.
Compare actual and volumetric weight
Air freight uses the higher of actual weight and volumetric weight as the chargeable weight.
Apply the reference service rates
Sea freight remains priced in US dollars per CBM. Air services are priced in yuan by chargeable weight, except mobile phones, which are charged per phone.
Suggest a practical route
The tool considers shipment size, cargo type and the calculated comparison before suggesting air or sea freight.
